    Question: Sequoia National Park California?

My boyfriend’s family and I are going to Sequoia National Park on Monday March 31st and April 1st. We have never been there before and I wanted to know anything about it. Like what are fun thins to do? What should I pack, what kinds of clothes do I need? Things of that sort. Thanks so much!!!!
We are going now because my boyfriend’s brother just got back from Afghanistan and he is on leave from the military and we want to do something fun and he will only be here for a little while.

Answer: It’s a very beautiful place! It’s at a very high altitude, so the air is very clear And of course there are the redwoods.

It can be really chilly, especially in the mornings, and especially this early in the season. Not freezing, just cold and maybe damp. So pack layers–sweaters, hoodies, etc. Add and remove layers as necessary. It might be nice to have some thick, warm socks. Wear shoes good for walking, especially on uneven surfaces.

Be sure to bring a camera. There is a grove of trees there that are the biggest and tallest in the world.

Do you like hiking? There are some amazing hikes there. Down at the end of the road is my favorite, I forget what it’s called but it’s only about a mile or so. There’s also a wonderful limestone cave about halfway down the road.

Beyond the beautiful scenery and trees there’s not much. It’s really sort of a getaway place rather than a place with specific things to see (like Yosemite).

Hope you have a good time! It is awfully early in the season, though.
