Whale watching is one of the core attractions of Long Beach California. These whale watching boats are small boats that leave Long Beach docks daily for whale watching trips. At Pierpoint Landing next to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, you can board a small boat and go whale watching. The whale watching boat usually leaves Pierpoint Landing from Dock 1. At Dock 1, there is a whale watching ticket booth where you can get more information on whale watching trips. There is usually just one whale watching trip a day on weekdays and two whale watching trips on weekends.

Experience of Whale Watching
Although going on a boat to try to spot whales seems like a fun idea, the fact is you may not see any whales. Usually if you go far enough out into the water, you will see dolphins of different types. Whales are harder to spot and usually the boat is far away from possible whale areas for you to not be able to see the whales. Besides, if the whales are out and you are not on the right side of the boat, you will miss the whales!

There is no guarantee you will see a whale on a whale watching trip. You are more likely to see dolphins than whales.
