Sand Filtration
What is sand filtration? How does sand filtration work?
Sand filtration is a mechanical process that removes particulate suspended in exhibit water. Sand filters also contain beneficial bacteria which perform biological filtration by feeding on organic waste.
Ozone contact towers are used to sanitize and clarify exhibit water. Ozone gas is injected into the base of the contact water. Ozone reacts with organic matter at the molecular level, oxidizing unwanted compounds.
