About California Counties

California is divided into 67 counties. Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, and Orange are among the more well known counties in California. Orange County is home to Disneyland California, although most people know Disneyland, many of them do not know that Disneyland is located in Anaheim which is in Orange County in California.

Cities in Los Angeles County

Los Angeles is the most famous place in California, although Los Angeles is not the capital of California. Los Angeles is home to Hollywood where movies are made and movie stars and celebrities most live and hang out. Los Angeles County is divided into many provinces and cities ranging from Long Beach in the South of Los Angeles to Santa Monica in the North of Los Angeles.

There are about 172 different cities in the LA county. Each city in LA county is small but operate in its own right. For example, the people in the City of Long Beach would call Long Beach home and the City of Torrance another city somewhat far away even though the City of Torrance is only half an hour drive from the City of Long Beach. Taxi drivers in Long Beach, for example, will rarely know roads in Torrance. The famous Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Malibu, and Burbank are cities in the Los Angeles County.
